After the concrete was set and scored last week, the framers were anxious to get to work. And, boy, did they ever work! By Friday they had the steel strongwalls up. Most of the walls were constructed, but not up, by the end of the workday. We left Sunday to go pick up the “kids” (Brian and Jill) from the airport in Vegas. We stayed the night over there, and when we came back on Monday they had all the walls up!
This morning (Tuesday), the crane was here to put the trusses up at 6:30am, but…there were no trusses to be found. The job foreman went to see what was going on, and all he found at the truss builders place was our trusses, a radio playing, and no one around. Weirdness. They ended up being delivered when we were leaving, around 10:00. We drove by once on our way to show Brian and Jill our little town, and the crane was back and they were in the process of getting the trusses up.
They also started the sheathing, but will finish that tomorrow. Mister is SUPER excited, and now that I can really see what this is going to look like, I’m getting pretty excited too! They’re doing a great job. The job foreman told us that this will most likely be done by Christmastime. Yay!
I know Mister hates slide-shows, but there are quite a few pictures here and it’s best to put them in that format.
